manifestation 101

I've had a lot of people ask me about manifestation. What is it? How does it work? How do you do it? Why do you do it? Everyone from my mom to random people in my classes have come to me asking questions. I'm certainly no expert on manifestation or the law of attraction, but I guess I'm going to try to do my best to shed some light on the topic from my perspective.

But before I get into it, I just want to put a disclaimer in here: These are my personal beliefs (and others' as well), I'm in no way saying that everything I'm saying is correct or the only way to do things. This is my personal take on spirituality and manifestation, so if that bothers or offends you, I probably would not read on... It's important to be able to have an open mind about these things before you read about them.

The term manifestation is something I discovered through various YouTube channels, and it seemed I was hearing about it on several different channels, in several different places all at once, so I figured it was worth paying attention to. I was quickly submerged in research, and spirituality suddenly became a massive part of my lifestyle - but I'll get into that some other time. Manifestation is something that the spiritual community holds very close to our beliefs and routines. Though, you definitely don't have to be super spiritual in order to use manifestation. And just for a little clarification, I'm talking about spirituality, not religion, the two are not the same in my book! I've seen more and more people talk about manifestation, so I think it's become something that a lot of people now know about or have heard of.

Manifestation, in my words, is putting good vibes and positive thoughts and energy into the universe in order to receive the things you truly want. It's how you turn your thoughts into a reality. If you want to find love, I wholeheartedly believe you could do so by using manifestation. That is, if you're dedicated enough. The only "catch" is you have to manifest like you already have what it is you are wanting to attract into your life. The universe doesn't understand the concept of time and in some other dimension, you already have what it is you're wanting to bring into your life. Therefore, it's important to act like you already have what you want. This is honestly a really amazing way to change your mindset too, instead of telling yourself you'll never get something, or that you'll have it one day, you're telling yourself you already have it, and that you've already attracted it... And I think it seems more positive this way anyway, and good things come to those who put off good vibes.

Okay, so how do I manifest? There are plenty of ways to do it, and no one way is absolutely the best way in my opinion. Personally, I just keep a manifestation journal and I set aside time everyday to mindfully jot down what it is I want to attract into my life. Key word: mindfully. This can take as long or as short of a time as you want it to. I would recommend doing this in a time and space where you won't be easily distracted - it's important to focus and put your whole mind into it! Like I said a few times before... you've got to be mindful about this. It might even be helpful to meditate before you sit down to manifest, though it's not a "requirement," and I don't even usually do this before manifesting.

When it comes to actually manifesting in a journal, you could just create a list of all the things you want to attract: "I am financially independent," "I have a job I love," or "I am happy and healthy." I used to use that method, but then I decided to get more detailed and push past just simple affirmations and phrases (which are still super important).

It's also important to note to you, to leave out any negative words in your manifestations. For example, don't use the word "debt" when you're trying to attract money or financial abundance, try to keep every single word positive. Using negative words can in turn attract those negative things, instead of what it is you really want to bring into your life. And we don't want that. However, that's not the only way to manifest, you can also just think about what you want to attract, mindfully while you meditate. That's a strategy I use from time-to-time, but I prefer journaling!

What kinds of things do I manifest? I'm not going to go to personal into my manifestations, because I believe that keeping it somewhat of a secret and personal to me, is what motivates me to keep doing it and helps me attract things into my life even more effectively. But, to be very basic, I usually jot down manifestations about attracting a career that I love, more confidence, better relationships with my friends and family, and so on. Your lists and phrases can be as detailed or as vague as you want them to be, it's all personal to you.
