spring break 2019

Yes, the post is long overdue. I would come up with some excuse, but to be honest with you, my only excuse is laziness. As I have so obsessively overshared on all of my social media platforms (feel free to follow me ;)), I went to Universal Orlando for spring break this year. And needless to say, it was everything I could've ever hoped for.

Backstory time: I had been looking forward to going back to Orlando since the last time I went in July 2017. I'd tried to get several people to go with me and it never worked out - which I guess I wasn't meant to go with any of those people. So when my best friend and I finally booked the trip, I was way more than excited to get back to my happy place. As the days got closer and closer, roller coasters, churros, and Harry Potter became all I could possibly think about. So much so, I wrote a piece about it for my creative writing class (and it's pretty nerdy if I do say so myself).

Anyway, the first night in Orlando was among one of the best nights I've had on this earth so far. We hadn't even gone into the park yet, but I was just so happy to be in a completely different state, with completely different air, and much more powerful sunshine. The different vibes put me in a much different, much happier mindset. And that was more than needed at that point in my educational career (and I'm feeling like I'm needing another one here pretty soon if I'm being honest). After unpacking our overpacked suitcases, we had a much needed greasy dinner at TGI Friday's, and then, per my mom's recommendation, we walked to CityWalk to hype ourselves up for the next few days... Even though we were already pretty hype. We walked around, talked, and looked around the gift shops before we decided that we absolutely needed margaritas from none other than Margaritaville. Thank you Jimmy Buffet. The margaritas, though kind of expensive, were bomb AF, and we were on vacation, so treat yo'self. Just take a look, if they don't look appetizing to you, perhaps the look on my face will sell them to you.

The rest of the trip was amazing too. I got to live life through all my favorite movies, eat good food, and meet new people. And of course, you know, I love rides too. It's definitely impossible to choose an absolute favorite, but among the favorite are definitely Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, and The Rock-it. Yes, I'm a thrill seeker. But, those don't even include the Harry Potter rides... Those long lines are definitely worth it. Speaking of waiting in lines, we definitely made the best of it. We had rad conversations about anything and everything. And when we were sick of each other, we used that time to rest our feet and check our phones. And on top of all the cool rides, we had some really great food and drinks. This week was all about treating ourselves.

Good food and good times aside, let's get into the real reason we decided to spend money to go to Florida for a week. Call us nerdy, but we definitely went down to spend four days straight in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I personally don't think that makes us nerdy, I think it makes us pretty cool, but think of it what you will. We freaked out over every little detail and continuously made plans for the next time we visited... which is in the works. As you'll be able to tell from all the pictures, we definitely were not camera shy here, despite the generous amounts of tourists around us. Nobody told us spring break would be more crowded than summer-time.

As you can probably tell, we had an amazing time, and I'm still basking in the glory of it all over a month later... Definitely can't wait to go back. And to anybody thinking about going: DO IT! You will not regret it, I promise!
